Serbia has reached its goal seven months ahead of schedule – 100 countries have confirmed their participation in Expo 2027, marking yet another strong affirmation that our country is globally recognized as an international meeting point, where we will all have the opportunity to take part in shaping the future of humanity, said Dušan Borovčanin, CEO of Expo 2027 Belgrade.
Borovčanin pointed out that having 100 countries confirm their participation in Expo 2027 Belgrade – an objective originally set for the end of 2025 – demonstrates that Serbia, through its dedicated efforts, has not only earned global trust as a host but has also emerged as a driver of change.
“The impressive number of early confirmations for the largest event in our country’s history suggests that the total number of participating nations could exceed the projected 120. This speaks to the strength of Serbia’s cultural diplomacy and growing international influence,” emphasized Borovčanin.
He noted that 100 countries' confirmation represents a major milestone in organizing the exhibition and serves as encouragement for those countries that have yet to confirm their participation.
“One hundred confirmed countries at this stage is more than just a number – it is a symbol of trust, support, and excitement that Expo 2027 is generating around the world. In two years, Belgrade will become a place where people from all continents will connect through play, music, and sport. Meanwhile, Serbia continues to proudly build bridges of cooperation between cultures, ideas, and people,” Borovčanin concluded.
Expo 2027 Belgrade will take place from May 15 to August 15, 2027, under the theme “Play for Humanity: Sport and Music for All.” It will be a unique opportunity for Serbia to host over four million visitors, showcase innovations, and leave a lasting mark on international relations as the host of a world-class mega-event.
