Dimitri Kerkentzes, the Secretary General of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) is visiting Serbia as part of the regular cooperation of Serbia and the Bureau in the phase of organisation of the Specialised EXPO 2027 Belgrade. Kerkentzes met Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia Miloš Vučević, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Siniša Mali, as well as the Director of EXPO d.o.o., Dušan Borovčanin, and the entire expert team and discussed the preparation status of the show.
It was underlined at the meetings that EXPO 2027 was an opportunity for investment, cooperation with the world, and also branding our country on the world map. EXPO is a flywheel of the Serbian economy and an occasion to launch infrastructure and other projects across Serbia ahead of the 2027 world gathering, aware of the effect EXPO brings forth to the host country.
The Secretary General of the Bureau International des Expositions said that there was a great interest among participants from member countries of the Bureau to come to Serbia, especially having in mind that EXPO has never taken place in these areas.
They are eager to see something new, and potentially, remain and live or work in Serbia, he said.
