The 79th regular annual session of the United Nations General Assembly is being held in New York, bringing together more than 140 world leaders and state representatives. On the sidelines of one of the biggest diplomatic events in the world, the "Serbia Beyond Future" reception was organized by the Permanent Mission of Serbia to the United Nations.
The Minister of Science, Technological Development and Innovation in the Government of the Republic of Serbia, Jelena Begović, presented at the reception the BIO4 campus project, Serbia's plans for achieving the goals of sustainable development and the upcoming Specialized Exhibition in Belgrade.
The session of the United Nations General Assembly is the most important multilateral forum in the world and Serbia used the opportunity to present to world officials and the whole world how much it is developing by keeping up with new technologies. The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, addressed the guests at the ceremony, stating that Serbia is the fastest growing country, with the development of information technologies, aspiring to also lead the way in the development of artificial intelligence and biotechnologies.
Speaking about the preparations for Expo 2027 Belgrade, Minister Begović said that Belgrade and Serbia will be the centre of the world during the three months of this event and that we expect more than four and a half million visitors, stressing that it is a great opportunity for the international exchange of ideas.
