The Solomon Islands and the Republic of Vanuatu have officially confirmed their participation in the Specialized Expo 2027, which will be held in Belgrade under the theme "Play for Humanity: Sport and Music for All."
These two island nations from the South Pacific have been regular participants in international exhibitions since the Specialized Expo 1985 in Tsukuba, and in 2007, they became members of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE). At Expo 2008 in Zaragoza, the Solomon Islands and Vanuatu won gold medals for their presentation design.
"We are incredibly happy and proud that in 2027, Belgrade will host interpretations of play, sport, and music from all corners of the world, including those geographically farthest from us. We are confident that our friends from Vanuatu and the Solomon Islands will bring a unique cultural program that will bring the distinctive spirit of the distant Pacific to the heart of Europe," said Dušan Borovčanin, Director of EXPO 2027 d.o.o. Belgrade.
Expo 2027 Belgrade will take place from May 15 to August 15, 2027, with the participation of over 120 countries. During the 93 days of the event, Serbia’s capital is expected to welcome more than four million visitors.
