Today, on the sidelines of the UN Climate Change Conference - COP29, a significant event took place under the theme Play Responsibly, Play for Humanity. This theme, adapted in accordance with the central theme of Expo 2027 Belgrade, Play for Humanity, focused on promoting the green agenda and sustainable development. The event was held at the host country Azerbaijan's pavilion, which, in a gesture of friendship between the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, and the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, provided the platform for this important gathering. Following an inspiring speech by President Vučić at the plenary session of the Summit, high-ranking officials, diplomats, and conference delegates gathered to hear how Serbia plans to integrate sustainable practices into the organization of Expo 2027. Speaking on behalf of the hosts, COP29 COO Narmin Jarchalova emphasized the importance of global cooperation in achieving sustainable development goals, which lie at the heart of both Expo 2027 and the COP29 agenda.
What is the significance of Expo 2027 participating in such an event?

Through these events, Serbia demonstrates its commitment not only to modernization and development but also to implementing best practices in environmental protection.
Presenting the Green Agenda of Expo 2027 within the context of COP29, a focal point of global discussion on climate change, clearly signals Serbia's role as an innovator in sustainability. This platform not only strengthens the international reputation of Serbia but also presents opportunities for additional investments and cooperation in fields that support the green economy and eco-friendly technologies. By actively engaging in leading global initiatives, Serbia positions itself as a key global player in addressing one of today’s most pressing challenges, simultaneously enhancing the quality of life within the country and beyond.
