EXPO 2027 Belgrade was presented at the seventh “Jahorina Economic Forum”, which was held under the title “Western Balkans – Long-Term Development Strategies”. Congratulating the Jahorina Economic Forum organisers on a great event, which has been gathering together the business, academic and professional communities for 7 years, along with representatives of governments from the region, the director of EXPO 2027 Belgrade, Dušan Borovčanin, said that it was a great pleasure to present the event that Serbia will host in 2027, which officially begins in exactly three years.
“We can say that the entire region has become the host of such an important event, an event that will draw the attention of more than 100 world countries to this region. The specialised exhibition will help us attract the attention of a large number of countries, which may consider bringing their business to this region, establishing cooperation with our companies, or implementing intensive diplomatic activity,” the director of EXPO 2027 Belgrade said.
Borovčanin said that EXPO 2027 Belgrade is a driving force behind the development of all sectors of the economy: “In addition to more than 100 countries, we will host some of the most important international organisations and corporations at the exhibition. EXPO is not only a 92-day event at the exhibition halls. The idea is to bring the entire city, the Republic of Serbia and the region alive for those three months, with parallel events such as the Jahorina Economic Forum, which represent an excellent opportunity for the exchange of business ideas,” he added.
The theme of the Specialised Exhibition in Belgrade is “Play for Humanity: Sports and Music for All” and it focuses on the importance of games, sports and music and their contribution to the development of humanity. During this period, more than 2.6 million visitors are expected to enjoy very interesting content in the Serbian pavilions and more than a hundred countries will present themselves in 25ha of exhibition space. As an organiser of the specialised exhibition, Serbia will join the 170-year-long history of EXPO events that have changed the world with great technological and scientific achievements or lasting architectural heritage.
