As construction of the Expo 2027 complex in Surčin is well underway, the size, appearance, and concept of this space are still hard to imagine for many. For this reason, the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia and Minister of Finance, Siniša Mali, presented the official model of the exhibition to the media exactly two years before the opening of Expo 2027 Belgrade. The model clearly and comprehensively illustrates how Expo will transform Belgrade and what one of its most modern areas will look like in 2027, when Serbia’s capital will host the entire world.
" Expo 2027 is a project that will generate new investments, create tens of thousands of new jobs, improve transport and utility infrastructure, and change the way Serbia communicates with the world. In exactly two years, we will host the largest event ever organized in our country, representing the greatest development opportunity that will stimulate and accelerate the growth and progress of our economy. In less than four years from the start of construction, all facilities will be completed in line with the quality standards we have set, which proves that Serbia has changed," said Siniša Mali, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia and Minister of Finance.
The Minister explained that the model also displays the entire supporting infrastructure, which will enable easy access to the complex for a large number of visitors, while also improving the daily lives of citizens living in this part of Belgrade.
The Expo 2027 model will serve to inform all interested parties about the project—diplomats and delegations from participating countries, business partners and sponsors, as well as all citizens of our country and tourists who wish to learn more about the project and how the future Expo 2027 complex will look in space. The model of Expo 2027 faithfully presents all parts of the largest construction site in this part of Europe—the future national pavilion, pavilions of participating countries, the Best Practices Pavilion, the residential complex, access roads, and its position in relation to other major infrastructure projects.
"On this day, exactly two years from now, Expo 2027 in Belgrade will be officially opened. The eyes of the entire world will be on Serbia that day, where people from over 120 countries will present their traditions and latest achievements and explain how they believe play, sport, and music can change humanity for the better. That day will be a turning point for Belgrade, Serbia, and the entire region. We are very pleased to unveil our official model today, which will help showcase the significance and scale of this major event," stated Dušan Borovčanin, CEO of EXPO 2027 d.o.o. Belgrade.
EXPO 2027 Belgrade will take place from May 15 to August 15 2027, with the participation of over 120 countries, and it is expected that more than four million visitors will attend the exhibition during its 93-day duration.
