EXPO 2027 Belgrade was presented today to the business community of Serbia and France at the Serbian House in Paris, during the MEDEF International business forum. In the presence of numerous dignitaries, representatives of the diplomatic corps, the business community, and other guests, the Specialised Exhibition EXPO 2027 was introduced, highlighting its significance for Belgrade, Serbia, the Serbian economy, and opportunities for collaboration with entrepreneurs from other countries.
Dušan Borovčanin, Director of EXPO 2027 Belgrade, informed attendees about the progress made in organising the event, emphasising that the Specialised Exhibition is expected to attract over 3 million visitors and participants from more than 120 countries as well as international organisations, presenting an excellent opportunity for the development of various industries. “This is the first EXPO exhibition in the Western Balkans”, Borovčanin noted, adding that it sends a different, new image of the region to the world, portraying countries and nations working closely together towards a common goal of development.
Mihailo Vesović, Director of the Sector for Strategic Analysis, Services, and Internationalisation at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, stated that economic cooperation between Serbia and France is on the rise, and that EXPO 2027 Belgrade will undoubtedly be an opportunity to strengthen it further in the coming period.
The Serbian Ambassador to France, Ana Hrustanović, emphasised that Serbia eagerly anticipates 2027, when it will host the entire world during the three-month duration of the specialised exhibition in Belgrade.
Representatives of French business associations, Gérard Wolf, President of MEDEF International, and Pierric Bonnard, Director of Business France, shared their experiences and opportunities for establishing and developing business cooperation during the organisation of major global events. Paris is an excellent example of a city that, besides attracting millions of tourists annually due to its tourist and cultural offerings, often hosts events such as the Olympic Games or previous EXPO exhibitions, so they shared their experiences in organising large events with the gathered audience at this event.
During the MEDEF business forum, direct contact was made between representatives of the French and Serbian business communities, who exchanged experiences and possibilities for cooperation.
As a reminder, EXPO 2027 Belgrade will be held in Belgrade from 15 May to 15 August 2027, and it is expected that more than 3 million visitors, as well as representatives from more than 120 countries, will gather in Belgrade during the 92 days of the event to present their views on the theme of the exhibition.
